Ms. German is an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional with thirteen years of experience with technical abilities in environmental management systems (EMS) development and implementation, environmental compliance particularly stormwater and air permitting, and in researching and applying applicable environmental and occupational safety laws and regulations. Her primary areas of expertise are implementation, evaluation, technical review and training on a wide range of EHS topics including federal Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) planning, hazardous waste, stormwater management, laboratory safety and chemical management, aboveground and underground storage tank management, occupational health and safety, and industrial hygiene.
Ms. German is also proficient in occupational health and safety management. Ms. German has managed facility-level occupational health and safety programs including construction safety management of large capital projects. Her experience includes leading and managing the process for formal audits and assessments, root cause analysis for safety accident investigations, worker’s compensation investigations, occupational health and safety training, and construction safety audit and oversight.
Ms. German holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University. Ms. German will obtain her Master of Public Health (MPH) from Tulane University in December 2019. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer in ten states, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and will be sitting for the Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) Certification exam in Spring 2020.
